7:15 – 9:00 AM: Meet The Guide and Drive to The Tiger Leaping Gorge
Meet your tour guide in the hotel lobby in Lijiang at 07:15 AM and take a 1.5-hour private vehicle ride to Tiger Leaping Gorge. Transfers are available from Lijiang city only. For transfers from Shangri-La, please consult your travel advisor.
9:30 – 11:30 AM: Hike from Tea Horse Guesthouse to Halfway
Route Overview: Lijiang - Qiaotou - Tea Horse Guesthouse - Halfway - Tina’s Guesthouse - Ladder Guesthouse - Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge - Lijiang
Start the hike from the Tea Horse Guesthouse, following a scenic trail that leads to the Halfway Guesthouse in Bendiwan Village. Upon arrival, take in the stunning view from the famous "Shuang Si Ni" balcony, a spot that offers unparalleled vistas of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and the sweeping gorge below.
The path is well-paved and smooth, offering panoramic views of the gorge, distant peaks, and the surrounding landscape. The breathtaking scenery makes this part of the hike truly unforgettable.
11:30 AM – 1:00 PM: Lunch and Coffee Break at Halfway Guesthouse
At Halfway Guesthouse, enjoy a delicious lunch on the terrace while soaking in the incredible mountain views. Relax with a cup of freshly brewed coffee, and chat with the guesthouse staff, who are known for their friendliness and stories about the local area. This stop provides the perfect moment to recharge for the next leg of the journey.
1:00 – 2:30 PM: Hike from Halfway to Tina’s Guesthouse
Continue the trek along narrow trails toward Tina's Guesthouse. This section of the hike is known for its thrilling views, with the trail winding along steep cliffs and passing through rugged terrain. Look out for mules, goats, and rushing rapids as you cross wooden plank bridges. The journey is adventurous yet manageable, with incredible sights along the way.
2:30 – 3:30 PM: Explore the Ladder Guesthouse and Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge
Upon reaching Tina’s Guesthouse, take a short detour to visit Ladder Guesthouse and descend to the Middle Tiger Leaping Gorge. Here, you’ll see the powerful rapids up close and hear the roar of the water echoing through the gorge. For the daring, the steep ladder climb offers an exhilarating experience and unmatched views.
3:30 – 5:15 PM: Return to Lijiang
After exploring the gorge, return to Tina's Guesthouse and board your private vehicle for the drive back to Lijiang, arriving in the early evening.
