Itinerary Quick Look
We’re happy to tailor this private tour of Beijing to match your interests. Please note that the time frame is for reference only and may vary due to traffic conditions on the day of your tour.
Your tour guide will meet you in the hotel lobby as long as the hotel is within the Fourth Ring Road in Beijing. If your hotel is outside the Fourth Ring Road, or if you need to be picked up at the train station or airport, the guide can still meet you up, but there will be an additional charge.
Hutong Rickshaw
In the afternoon, dive into Beijing’s old-world charm with a Hutong rickshaw tour, a quintessential way to explore the city's narrow alleyways. Hop onto a traditional rickshaw and weave through the historic Hutongs, where Beijing’s local culture thrives. As you ride through these maze-like streets, you’ll pass by traditional Siheyuan courtyard homes, getting a sense of the city’s past and the daily life of its residents. Your rickshaw driver will share stories of the neighborhoods, giving you insight into the unique architecture and local traditions that have shaped these communities for centuries.
Combine your rickshaw tour with a visit to Shichahai, an area known for its scenic lakes, or explore the bustling shops and cafes of Nanluoguxiang. For a cultural touch, consider adding activities like a Chinese calligraphy lesson or a dumpling cooking class.
Dumpling Cooking
Afterward, you'll visit a bustling local market, where you'll shop for fresh ingredients with the guidance of your local guide. They will help you select the best produce and give you insight into the local food culture. Next, you’ll be welcomed into a local family’s home, where you’ll learn the art of making traditional Chinese dumplings. Under the watchful eye of your host, you'll mix fillings, fold dumpling wrappers, and cook them to perfection. Finally, enjoy the fruits of your labor by sitting down to a delicious homemade meal.
Your tour finishes in the area where your guide departs. Your tour guide will assist you in taking a taxi to your hotel, but will not accompany you there.
