Tiananmen Square may be inaccessible under the following circumstances:

On significant national holidays such as National Day, Chinese New Year, or the Party Founding Anniversary, Tiananmen Square may be temporarily closed for celebrations, military parades, or cultural performances.

▪ Political or Diplomatic Events

When the square hosts important political meetings or diplomatic receptions (e.g., welcoming foreign heads of state by national leaders), it may be closed for security reasons.

▪ Public Gatherings or Demonstrations

If large-scale public gatherings, demonstrations, or commemorative events occur at the square, temporary control measures may be implemented, restricting visitor access.

▪ Security Checks or Emergencies

In response to unexpected public safety incidents, such as unusual activities or suspicious items found in the square, comprehensive temporary controls may be imposed.

▪ Weather Conditions

Extreme weather, such as strong winds, heavy rain, or snow, may result in temporary closures to ensure public safety.

▪ Maintenance Work

If large-scale repairs, renovations, or arrangements (e.g., installation of National Day floral displays) are being carried out at the square or its surrounding areas, public access may be restricted.

▪ Holiday Crowding and Capacity Control

During peak holiday periods, such as Spring Festival, May Day, or the National Day Golden Week, access may be temporarily limited or require reservations to prevent overcrowding and ensure safety.

In such situations, if entry to Tiananmen Square is not possible, we will adjust the itinerary accordingly. For instance, we may opt for viewing Tiananmen Square from the vehicle while providing a brief introduction to its history and cultural significance, and then proceed to other attractions.
