Itinerary Quick Look

We’re happy to tailor this private tour of Beijing to match your interests. Please note that Tian'anmen Square could be enforced martial law due to government activities temporarily, which we can NOT be informed in advance. So the tour guide may adjust the itinerary according to the situation.

Your tour guide will meet you in the hotel lobby as long as the hotel is within the Fourth Ring Road in Beijing. If your hotel is outside the Fourth Ring Road, or if you need to be picked up at the train station or airport, the guide can still meet you up, but there will be an additional charge.

Day 1: Tian’anmen Square-Forbidden City-Hutong Rickshaw

Begin your Beijing tour at Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world, rich in historical significance and political importance. Here, you can admire key landmarks such as the Monument to the People's Heroes and the Great Hall of the People. Take a moment to reflect at the iconic portrait of Chairman Mao on the Gate of Heavenly Peace, which serves as a backdrop for numerous significant events in Chinese history. This vast open space is not only a hub of political activity but also a gathering place for locals and tourists alike, offering a deep connection to China’s revolutionary past.

Next, head to the grand Forbidden City, the former imperial palace and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As you pass through the impressive gates, you’ll enter a world of stunning Ming and Qing dynasty architecture and rich history, featuring over 900 buildings and sprawling courtyards. Explore the intricately designed halls, learn about the lives of emperors and their families, and appreciate the exquisite details of ancient Chinese art and culture. The Forbidden City is a must-visit destination that showcases the grandeur of China’s imperial era, making it one of the top attractions in Beijing.

Conclude your first day with a traditional hutong rickshaw ride through the charming alleyways of old Beijing, known for their historic significance and local culture. As you navigate these narrow streets, you’ll get a glimpse of daily life, with traditional courtyard homes and vibrant street scenes all around you. Your guide will share fascinating stories about the history and culture of the hutongs, making this experience both informative and enjoyable. This immersive journey through the heart of Beijing allows you to connect with the city’s rich heritage and enjoy the unique atmosphere of its historic neighborhoods, highlighting the charm of Beijing's culture and community.

Day 2: Mutianyu Great Wall-Bird’s Nest (outside)-Water Cube (outside)

On the second day of your Beijing tour, visit the stunning Mutianyu Great Wall, one of the most picturesque and well-preserved sections of this iconic structure. Known for its breathtaking natural scenery and fewer crowds compared to other parts of the Great Wall, Mutianyu offers a scenic cable car ride that makes it accessible for all visitors. As you hike along the ancient stone pathways and explore the watchtowers, you'll be immersed in the rich history of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and lush valleys provide a perfect backdrop for unforgettable photographs, making it a highlight of your Beijing adventure.

After your visit to the Great Wall, head back to the city to admire the impressive outside views of the Bird's Nest and Water Cube, two iconic landmarks from the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The Bird's Nest, officially known as the National Stadium, features a unique architectural design that resembles a woven nest, symbolizing modern China’s innovation. Nearby, the Water Cube, or National Aquatics Center, is renowned for its striking bubble-like exterior and is a marvel of contemporary architecture. These sites not only showcase Beijing's commitment to sport and culture but also serve as popular spots for photography and sightseeing, enriching your understanding of the city's modern identity.

The surrounding park is a vibrant community space, often filled with locals practicing tai chi, dancing, or playing traditional games, offering a unique glimpse into daily life in Beijing. This serene and culturally rich site is a must-see for anyone interested in Chinese history and spirituality.

Afterward, head to the exquisite Summer Palace, an expansive imperial garden and another UNESCO World Heritage Site.
