**Jade Buddha Temple**
Originally built during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (1875-1909), the Jade Buddha Temple holds a priceless collection of Burmese jade statues. Constructed in the grand architectural style of the Song Dynasty, the temple is also home to the Shanghai Buddhist Institute.
**Nanjing Road**
Nanjing Road, often called China’s 'No. 1 commercial street,' has long been a landmark of Shanghai. Stretching 5.5 kilometers, it features over 600 shops that draw an average of 1.7 million visitors daily. Here, you’ll find everything from affordable souvenirs to luxurious world-famous brands. Nearby, you can also explore unique neighborhoods and see the famous 'Paper Building' on Ningbo Road, known as the thinnest building.
This distinctive structure, once featured by the British Daily Mail, is considered one of the world’s flattest and thinnest buildings. Viewed from a 30° angle, it appears as thin as a piece of paper. Although the four-story building forms a triangular polygon, it still has ample living space and is home to numerous residents.
**Shanghai Tower**
Shanghai Tower is China’s tallest building and the second tallest in the world. Experience the thrill of its high-speed elevator, which ascends at 18 meters (59 feet) per second, and enjoy the spectacular light show that illuminates the tower’s exterior at night.
There’s no need to buy tickets for Shanghai Tower in advance, as sometimes there are too many people lining up on the day. If you’d like to visit, you can buy tickets on the spot (your tour guide may help you). If you decide not to visit Shanghai Tower, the Urban Planning Exhibition Hall can be a good alternative.
