Itinerary Quick Look

Your tour guide will meet you in the hotel lobby as long as the hotel is within the Fourth Ring Road in Beijing. If your hotel is outside the Fourth Ring Road, or if you need to be picked up at the train station or airport, the guide can still meet you up, but there will be an additional charge.

Day 1: Tian’anmen Square-Forbidden City-Peking Duck

Begin your Beijing tour at Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world, steeped in history and significance. Here, you can admire the imposing Monument to the People's Heroes and the Great Hall of the People, which play important roles in China’s political landscape. Take a moment to reflect at the portrait of Chairman Mao that hangs on the Gate of Heavenly Peace, and explore the surrounding area to learn about pivotal events in Chinese history. The square serves as a vibrant gathering place for locals and tourists alike, offering a profound sense of connection to the country’s past. This key historical site is essential for understanding modern China and its revolutionary history.

Next, visit the Forbidden City, the former imperial palace and one of the most important cultural landmarks in China. As you pass through the ornate gates, you’ll enter a world of stunning architecture and rich history, with over 900 buildings and vast courtyards to explore. Discover the intricate details of ancient Chinese art and design, and learn about the lives of the emperors and their families who once resided here. The Forbidden City’s grandeur and historical significance make it an unforgettable highlight of your Beijing adventure, providing insight into the imperial era that shaped China’s history. This iconic attraction is a must-visit for anyone interested in Chinese dynasties, architecture, and culture.

Please arrive at the roast duck restaurant before 4:20 PM to enjoy the duck (at your own expense).

Peking duck is a renowned Chinese dish celebrated for its exquisite flavor and crispy skin, originating from Beijing. The preparation involves air-drying the duck and coating it with a mixture of honey and maltose before roasting it in a wood-fired oven, which gives it a distinct, rich flavor and a golden-brown, crispy exterior. Traditionally served in thin pancakes with hoisin sauce and sliced scallions, Peking duck offers a delightful combination of textures and tastes. The dish is often considered a symbol of Beijing's culinary heritage, attracting both locals and tourists who seek an authentic dining experience in the city's vibrant food scene. Enjoying Peking duck in a traditional restaurant enhances the experience, as diners often witness the art of slicing the duck, making it not just a meal but a memorable event.
