Day 1: Lijiang Ancient Town-Centennial Ancestral Home Bonfire Party
Lijiang, a historic ancient town full of charm, is located in the northwest of Yunnan Province, China. It is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, boasting the unique Naxi culture, stunning natural scenery, and a relaxed pace of life.
Lijiang's Naxi Family Centennial Ancestral Home Ecological Garden is the ancestral residence of He Zhihua, a Jinshi (successful candidate in the imperial examination) bestowed in the late Qing Dynasty. During the Ming and Qing periods, He Zhihua's ancestors were well-known locally as a distinguished family of literary and scholarly heritage.
Day 2: Jade Dragon Snow Mountain-Glacier Park-Blue Moon Valley-Baisha Ancient Town
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain consists of 13 peaks, with its highest peak, Shanzidou, serving as the main summit, reaching an altitude of 5,596 meters. Against the backdrop of a clear blue sky, the entire mountain resembles a silver jade dragon in eternal flight, which is why it is named "Jade Dragon Snow Mountain".
In Glacier Park, while ascending on the cable car, you can overlook the majestic snow-covered forests and glacier caves. Once off the cableway, the beauty of the plateau snow-capped mountains under the blue sky and white clouds is simply unparalleled.
“Blue Moon Valley” gets its name from the azure blue of its lake water and the crescent shape of the valley. It is said to be the inspiration for the “Blue Moon Valley” described by British author James Hilton in his novel Lost Horizon. Romantic and mysterious, it is hailed as “a tear of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain”.
Baisha Ancient Town, the closest ancient town to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, exudes simplicity, tranquility, seclusion, and a utopian charm. It is the birthplace of the Naxi people and once served as the ancient capital of the Naxi Kingdom. The town is not very large, centered around a main street. Visitors can explore the two alleys on either side of the Baisha Ancient Town archway.
